400grams of oil

50% Coconut
30% Olive
20% Canola
tsp of salt in water before Lye
tsp of sugar at trace for bubbles and lather.
1% Superfatting for a Delicates Hand wash Laundry soap.

I put them in a cooler bag to retain heat.

This bar gelled in the cooler bag and I was able to unmold it perfectly in 6 hours.
 
Some people who are experts able to get 35% lye solution to work there is a method to get their soap traced and poured and gelled. It comes out a perfectly hard bar and without the brittleness. They have to work quickly. Expert soap makers.

Handcrafted soap is pretty much always more expensive to make than supermarket cleansers and soaps. We don't make soap to save money, we make soap to make something better.


Pound for Pound, I think my soap is cheaper. :)

Good for you, Shalisk! :) I can't say that's true for me, especially if I include a fair price for my labor.
 
Thanks for replies, I will try a batch of refined CO which is apparently scentless. $9.90 / Litre here And I will try a small batch of FCO, $18.70/500ml.

That' s awfully expensive!
Last time I checked, I paid € 6.25/1000ml.

But happy your soaping is going well! :)
