color for 1st bath salts

I want to make some bath salts just for christmas gifts...

can I find anything locally to color/scent them ?

You can probably get colors and skin safe fragrances from Hobby Lobby. Just make sure they specify that they are skin safe. Some people use Wilton gel colors for bath bombs. They would probably work for bath salts also. Health food stores probably handle essential oils.
 
I work part time at a health food store so getting the EO's are not a problem... I just wanted to a tiny bit of some kind of color without having to pay shipping on a full order.
 
I think Joann's carries Life of the Party supplies, which include skin safe colorants for $2 or $3 bucks a pack. Hobby Lobby or Michael's might also carry the same thing--I haven't been in either place in a while to know for sure.
 
Unsweetened cocoa?
Turmeric?

I have used them in CP but they might make a total mess in bath salts.
