Hi everyone,

I'm wanting to try make some lotion so am looking up old posts. I'm thinking it can't be more difficult I have clicked on the 'swiftcraftymonkey' blog address but it's saying you have to be invited to get onto the page. Any help from anyone who has read on there would be much appreciated. If I don't get a reply on this I will start my own post :)

I will find the link to a BB one that is a good one and never fails.
Of course, I don't really want to talk lotion much today since I have had 2 out of 4 failures in 2 days. I am talking 2-gallon batches. Fortunately, I did manage to fix them. Lotion is simply not a no brainer to make. If you watch the video the recipe is underneath. Almond Oil can be changed for another liquid oil. I do not like her method as I still heat and hold and I think Ann Marie uses a micro wave but I am not real sure. Lotion making is fun

You can also find recipes for different types of skin (as well as a tutorial on how to make them) on my blog:-

I guess I should have clicked on your link before posting my link. Yes, you have a lot of great information on the site.

Thank you so much for the help and info. I'm a little apprehensive about ever attempting this. It all looks difficult but I want to read and learn and maybe take a class although I cant find much in the area I live in
Thank you again :)

Just play with small batches until you are comfortable with it. The one I posted from Ann Marie is a very nice lotion I just suggest following proper lotion making procedures such as explained on the makingskincare site

I for sure will start with small batches. I have no idea what I'm doing but the info you sent helps - thank you. I'm also going to keep reading and maybe take out a few books from the library too!

Also I realize this was a really old post and now realize that we aren't meant to comment on a post so old. I now know this :)
