Beezwax "plastic" smell

does anyone buy the beeswax yellow pellets from soapers choice? it was a great price, but there's most definitely a plastic smell to the beeswax. I used in my lip balm, was great moisturizing chapstick but with that darn plastic smell despite 3% flavor oil, heres the basic recipe:
1 part beeswax
1 part avocado oil
1 part shea butter

Update:
there's no more beeswax plastic smell, it went away when the lip balm completely cooled
