bacon grease soap

So, I've been saving coffee mugs of bacon grease for a while, with the intent to turn into soap. I am wondering - what if I don't wash it? Will the soap smell bacon-y? There could be a market for that!

I'm interested in this, too. I've finally convinced my husband to put the collected grease in the fridge rather than under the counter where it collects and is eventually tossed out because it's gone rancid.

He's finally on board with my soap making and now realizes that bacon grease might actually have a use.

You can clean bacon grease. The old timers did it all of the time.
