Am looking for help with a problem I've been having. Only two out of my six batches have come out nicely set. One being a salt soap that turned out really nice and hard and a CPOP soap although that one had a thick ashy layer on the top. My problem is that the rest of my soaps have all been very soft after 24hours, today being the worst. It has come out like a sort of gloopy, vaseline textured lump and I have no idea what I've done wrong. I check my recipes over and over and things seem ok.

The only things I can think of is that it's very warm where I make my soap, not humid just rather warm and my coconut oil is liquid when at this room temperature. I'm also wondering whether I should use less water, would this help?

Recipe:
240g coconut oil (30%)
560g olive oil pomace (70%)
304g Water
113g Sodium Hydroxide
48g Fragrance Oil

Sorry this is such a long post, any help or ideas would be much appreciated :)

With your high water and olive...it will be soft for some time.

I would use 2 times your lye for water. So 113 g lye and 226 g water.

I think you'll be okay; they might just need to sit for a week or so before unmolding/cutting.
