I've searched and searched and cannot find the answer to this question?

When rebatching a botched batch of CP soap (made yesterday) -- do you have to cover and insulate the mold?

Thanks,
Robin

I think that you don't have to insulate the mold because you already have soap in it, so no saponification reaction is expected. You insulate the mold for speed up the chemical reaction between lye and fat acids in oils in CP.

I didn't insulate one of mine and it turned out just fine since there is no gel stage as far as I know... its already done.

Thanks...that's what I thought. I think I forgot to add 2 oz of Castor Oil to the recipe. I don't think it is salvageable. I made the exact same recipe today without the EOs in it to see if the recipe is bad.......I'll know when I unmold it tomorrow!

Thanks for your help!
