My husband and made our first batch of soap last night! Just pulled them out of the molds about a half hour ago and I think they look pretty good. They still seem a little harsh though. And pretty soft so we'll see what curing does to them.

First batch - Yeah!! Looks good! They will seem a little harsh at least for a few more days. Even then you probably still won't like them as much as you will in 4-6 weeks. I don't try my soaps for the first time for at least 2 -3 weeks after unmolding.

akajoos,

What kind of mold did you use for the stars? I'm asking because I have a couple ice cube trays I picked up at Walmart the other day that have that kind of tapered edge. I wasn't planning to use them as a mold because I figured the soap would never come out without having to dig them out.

I try mine as soon as it's unmolded. Just on my hands and arms, though.

The soap looks really nice!
