Let’s play a game. Has anyone seen “Whose Line is it Anyway?” It’s an improv show in the US where sometimes the host pulls random scenes from a hat, and the actors have to come up with a scenario.

Someone tosses our a random scenario (place, event, time, real or imagined) for which “the soap maker,” needs to make a cold-process soap to commemorate / celebrate / promote the event. Folks are invited to respond with their vision describing the finished product in as much detail as possible (oils, fragrances, added ingredients, color(s), pour, swirls/designs, packaging, etc. Anything you want. If we find a scenario we all like, maybe we can all make real soap based on the theme and compare.

An example scenario might be:

“Soaps from a Hat: Duck Dynasty Groomsmen.” “The mother of the groom has contacted you about making gifts for 10 groomsmen in her son’s upcoming wedding. The guys are mostly professionals but avid outdoorsmen. Most of the wedding party is in their early 20s. The wedding is casual and non-religious and will be held in a rustic event barn venue. Both the bride and groom are athletic and free-spirited as are their friends. The bride has chosen a simple color scheme of sky blue. The groomsmen will wear khakis and denim blue shirts...”. You get the idea. No further details will be provided....You have to go with the info you have be given.

The purpose isn’t to compete, but to spur creative thinking. Anyone game? Note: It would be important to start each response with the theme of the challenge to avoid confusion.

** Sorry moderators. Maybe this won’t be too complicated to manage. It might also fall flat on it’s face, because it’s a dumb idea. We’ll see.
