Hi -

What can I substitute in place of soybean oil? Since I don't believe in using soy in my soap products. thanks

Ran it through the soap calc and my recipe looks like...yuck... nothing is within range at all. It's a wool wash bar.

4 oz CO
4oz OO
4oz canola oil (sub from Soybean oil)
4 oz Lanolin
2 oz lye 6 oz water

Peanut is pretty close to soy in saponif'n no., but is more saturated, having more monounsaturated than polyunsaturated content. They're similar in unsaponifiables.
