After 20 years of living in Europe I am finally going home (MI)

Where are the best places to get supplies?
FO's
EO's
Oils
Butters
Colors
Lye
Ect, ect,
Lol.... I feel like I am starting all over again!

For FO, EOs, Oils, etc I prefer to use brambleberry.com

For lye, I find essentialdepot.com to be a great cheap source with fast shipping.

Wecome back to the States! :)

I buy my lye from AAA Chemical Supply in Texas.

For oils/fats/butters, I really like Columbus Foods (Soaper's Choice) if can't find them locally. Also, Oregon Trails sells some really nice mango butter without grains.

For colorants I use Oregon Trails and TKB Trading.

For fragrances....well.....I'm all over the map when it comes to those. My favorite suppliers for scents are:

-Daystar
-The Scent Works
-Sweet Cakes
-Oregon Trails
-Peaks
-Bittercreek North (and South)
-WSP (although they've ben trying my patience lately with their ever-changing business pratices)

You are starting all over again.

I don't know if these are the best sites but here are a few links.

Oils & butters -

Columbus Foods - http://www.soaperschoice.com/

WSP - http://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/ (Yes, I know I've complained about them but there are some items which I still purchase from them. I've also noticed recently that the prices on some items have become more reasonable and competitive. It looks like I may be using WSP more in the future.)

Colors -

http://theconservatorie.com/
tkbtrading.com
http://www.candlesupply.com/

FOs -

http://www.naturesgardencandles.com/
http://www.peakcandle.com/
http://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/ (Yup! Them again.)
http://justscent.com/
http://sweetcakes.com/
Moonworks - http://www.venusenterprises.info/Collection/

I've been looking at candlescience.com. I bought some of their FOs off of PrairieCraft and I liked them. However, I didn't use them in soap. I used them in aroma beads/corn cob for air fresheners and ornies.

EOs - I haven't had to buy EOs for a long time because I'm not using them as much. But I have purchased from NDA
http://www.newdirectionsaromatics.com/ and WSP. I don't know how competitive the prices are but I have been happy with the quality of the oils.

Lye -

thelyeguy.com and essentialdepot.com

ED often has sales but you still need to go through the site and compare prices. I've actually found lye at a better price than what they have on sale. I had to buy more than I had originally meant to buy to get the better price but I figured I'd use it. :D

I like some of Brambleberry's items but the shipping is so high from WA to OH that I rarely order from them.

HTH and welcome back!

You can also get lye (Rooto) at Aco. And, hey, I live in Michigan! Where are you going?

The Lye Guy is from upstate NY so probably good choice for MI and I think he has good prices (although I am can't really compare him to anywhere as that is where I always get it - I am in CT). He has buy 5, get 1 free!!

I saw most people covered the rest... but I didn't see www.elementsbathandbody.com for FO's. Nice selection, decent prices, fantastic fragrances!

I also use www.candlesandsupplies.net for butters, oils, and FO's. Amazingly fast shipping for me. It arrives literally the next day (PA to CT).

Welcome Back!!

20 years is a long time! What a change for you. I expect it is easier to get supplies here? For lye I just go to Amazon.com or google it. I think Essential Depot usually comes up. And like everyone else fragrances come from everywhere! All the sites I use have been listed. Welcome back!

GR.

Thanks everyone! I should be there in Feb..

Why I am coming back? Long sad story with a happy ending

Oh I'll have to remember this thread in the event that I move back to the US... we've been thinking about it, and my first thought was, 'oh no, where do I get my supplies?!'

Looked at your www. Going to have to try those veggie burgers.. I have been a vegetarian for 18 years now too... We have a bit in common. ;-) expat, veggie and suds!

Good luck with the move and welcome back to the US!

All of the above, plus I love love love Aroma Haven fragrances. I just discovered Midwest Fragrance Co. and so far I'm happy with them.

http://rusticescentuals.com/ - That's Aroma Haven
http://midwestfragrancecompany.com/ - Link already posted, but here it is again.

I love WSP's quality, but won't be back until their pricing is easier to compare. With the shipping included in their prices, it's a bear to do cost comparisons and my time is worth something!

I am so glad that I've found this thread because I think I may just have to start buying my coconut oil from Soaper's Choice from now on.

Welcome back!
Hazel posted the links were I get most of my supplies. You can't beat Columbus Foods for oils and butters, love tkb for colorants and I get most of my fo from either Peak, Natures Garden or Soap Supplies: http://www.soapsupplies.net/home.html their fragrances are great and she has a NICE flat rate shipping.
I also like wfmed for my eo's I found them on ebay, I've tried others but end up going back to them because you can't hardly beat their price and thier oils are as good as any I've tried: http://stores.ebay.com/wfmed Hope this helps :)

I'll start out by apologizing to Jezzy because I'm going to hijack her thread. I'm a bad person.

Debra -

Thanks for posting the links. I'm going to have to check out these sites. I haven't bought EOs for a long time because of the expense. Of course, it's not like I really need more fragrance oils.

LOL! I know exacly what you mean Hazel, I had to build a shelving unit just for my ever-expanding supply. :)
