    Finding Lard in Australia

I've just moved to Aus, and I'm not sure where to find lard. The supermarkets don't seem to carry it. Can any Aussie soapers point me in the right direction? Thanks :)

    Question for Aussie soapers

Great, thanks guys. I'm Canadian, but have been in the UK for the past 8 years. Things are cheaper in the UK than in Canada, for the most part.

    Question for Aussie soapers

Hi all, I'm going to be moving to Oz in 4 weeks (weeeeee so excited!!!) and was wondering about the costs of supplies over yonder. I'll be in Newcastle, so presumably will have to mail order lots of stuff. Can you tell me who your favourite/cheapest suppliers are? Where do you get your sodium...

    smell please come back!!

Hi there, are you planning on selling your soaps? If so, in the UK you need to have each of your recipes, including EO's, tested by a chemist to ensure safety. You legally can not sell soap without having done this, so if you are planning on selling, they can help advise you on how much is safe.

    When do you cut?

How long do you give your soap before cutting? I am way too impatient, and am hard pressed to wait 24 hours, but this is clearly not enough time as every time it has still been slightly too soft, and I just damage the bars. I need to learn to be more patient :) So should I unmold and then give...

    Whipped soap mixer

Does this mixer look like it would work to make whipped soap? I want to give whipped soap a try, but the mixers are all SO expensive! http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/p ... MIXERS.htm

    Swirls

Thanks for the advice, I'll keep trying - maybe I haven't been keeping the main base moving enough while doing the colour, and haven't been pouring from high enough - I'll try these things. Here's a pic...the swirls don't go very far in at all!! On the plus side, I love the blue I got - was...

    Swirls

ARRG!! I can't get swirls right for the life of me!!! I've attempted them in earnest twice now, first time I poured at such a light trace that it was no trace at all, and it all just melded together in a colourless blob. And now I've tried again, and everything seems to be going swimmingly, I...

    Think I poured too soon

I wanted to try an in the pot swirl yesterday, but I don't think I mixed my soap up enough before I poured it in to the mould! I thought it looked like it was almost at trace - no tell tale trails in the mixture yet, but thought it might be ok...swirls didn't work out at all, as it was far too...
