Well, I just rendered out my beef fat 2 weeks ago. I just put small cut up pieces of the fat into my crock pot and let 'er go. Made beautiful tallow. but now I also need a receipe to give it a try.

Hi all-I will have some beef fat when I pick up my beef this week and am wondering how do I render the fat out? The same as you do on pork? I haven't done beef before & want to make a batch of soap with beef tallow. Does anyone know how it is different in soap from lard?

I'm a little confused here-if soap removes the oil from your face, why are we using good oils like, olive, almond, avacado, & butters in our soaps? Isnt that just kind of a waste? I was under the assumption that the soap actually moisturized your skin? Sounds like its the opposite.

Hi-I recently bought some olive oil at the grocery where it was buy 1 get 1 free. I plan to use one in the kitchen & 1 for soaping. Well, I noticed that the label on front of the bottle says "Robust" and it does have a stronger odor than my regular oo. Sooo, will it affect the soap?

It looks good to me-I would use it!! anyway, I didn't realize you could keep rebatching the same soap over & over...thats good to know cuz I rebatch some last week and it hasn't firmed up at all-still very soft. Guess i will try again. What method did you use, oven, crock pot or microwave?

Has anyone ever heard of or know where I can buy this fragrance? I bought a bar of soap that the maker told me was scented with this but she wouldn't tell me where she got it. I love it and would like some to make a batch of soap with. I have tried looking for it with no success!!!!
