The Scent Works Out of Stock

Irishlass, I found a sub for TSW's Blue Sugar from Backwoods Fragrance They are a really nice company! It behaves exactly the same, with a very slight off-white D. I think it is even better than TSW's! Lovely, rich scent! And, their price on Blue Sugar is a lot less than TSW's.

    Tracking supplies, inventory etc.

Agreeing with pamielynn - Soapmaker has been a HUGE help in keeping track of my inventory, and letting me know exactly what my costs are. It's a lot of work getting it set up, but SO worth it!

    Sandalwood FO

    You're welcome, Carolyn!

    Sandalwood FO

I used the Hawaiian Sandalwood from AHRE and I really like it. Woodsy, not powdery. Sticks well at .9 oz PPO. Can't say if it discolors, as I used Aussie Red Clay. Soaps beautifully with no A. I used to use BB's Sensuous Sandalwood, but I like AHRE's much better!

    Accounting online?

I've been using Kashoo for the past year and like it so far. I was using QB, but wanted something online that I could access with my iPad.

    charcoal soap

Beautiful soap! I use activated charcoal. It's super fine. Don't know if it's different than what's in the capsules, but my charcoal soap comes out very black at 1T PPO.

    Pumpkin Spice

Just made a batch with TSW's Sugar Pumpkin Chai. Did accelerate a bit, but manageable. It's a heater, so insulate very lightly if at all. Smells just like pumpkin pie to me.

New to CP - white specs or bubbles - what happened?!

What IrishLass said. Hate those darn little stearic buggers! I use a fairly high amount of palm, so I have to soap warm.

    Questions about using palm oil

If it is regular palm (not the homogenized "shortening" type), you need to melt it down, stir it well, and portion it out. The palm stearic has to be properly mixed/incorporated, or you are going to have issues with the final product. I used to use the organic palm that I had to melt down and...

    Your fav Vanilla

Warm Vanilla Nutmeg from AH/RE is really nice in cp soap. There are no spice/nutmeg notes that I can detect. Just a warm, foody vanilla. It doesn't discolor to dark brown, either. More of a dark tan. It is my new go-to vanilla for soap. (Thanks to Judymoody's review on The Soap Scent...

Bella, are you using this in CP soap?

    did wsp raise prices again?

I used WSP for quite a few of my FO's, then they began playing around with their prices. Drove me nuts. I don't know of anyone who uses just one supplier for everything. Nature's Garden seems to be expanding their product line to include some soaping oils and other items. I use them for a...

Looking for a good musky/leathery/tobacco FO - have a fave?

Re: Looking for a good musky/leathery/tobacco FO - have a fa Egyptian Musk from Oregon Trails is very nice. No spice notes, just musk with a hint of vanilla to my nose. The scent gets richer as it cures. Discolors to a tan/brown. Oh, almost forgot - Santa's Pipe smells just like cherry...

Candelilla wax in lip balm ... super grainy ???

Also, make sure you get the double refined Candelilla wax. I have heard the regular can go grainy. I get mine from Nature's Garden. :)

    Troubleshooting: Clear Streaks

I don't think so. I've got my money on stearic streaks. :)

    Whipped Body Butters / Creams

You're very welcome! Also, give your new recipe some time. After a week or so, it can change in consistency. If you are able to get it out of the jar fairly easily, that is a good thing. :)
