    What are these white spots?

    I've just cut this activated charcoal soap made with soy wax. I know its not going to win any beauty contests but can someone tell me what the white spots are top right and bottom middle/left? They are appearing in all the bars. The batter thickened up really quickly probably because I used a...

    Soy Wax and Beer?

    Has anyone added beer to their soy wax soap? I would like to try this but I'm a bit worried that soaping at warmer temperatures because of the soy wax will result in a lava eruption. Is it safe to CPOP?

    Question for European Soap Sellers - Soy Wax

    I've been looking on Etsy for European soap sellers who use soy wax as one of their ingredients. I can't find any so does this mean that soy wax is not an acceptable ingredient to pass a cosmetic safety assessment? Is there anyone here from Europe who sells soap using soy wax?

    Do any UK Soapers use Cookeen or Trex?

    I've been reading through some old threads but can't seem to find a conclusion about how best to enter this ingredient into a soap calc. I would also like to know how it performs in the long term ie does it make a hard and long lasting bar? What is the lather like? TIA

    Aw Nuts...I got ricing!

    Everything was progressing normally until I poured in my essential oils which were a blend of lemongrass and thyme. I have used lemongrass before so do you think it was the thyme? I glopped it all in the mould anyway, in the hope that the 'ricey' bits smooth out when it gels! Maybe I can pass...

    First Time with Soy Wax - what else could go wrong?!

    I am a beginner and this is my first time using soy wax. The end result was partial gel, soda ash and a mottled effect throughout the bar...oh yes, and I also got a crumbly bottom when I cut the bar!! On the plus side the lather is lovely and creamy and smells great. I put the batter straight...

    Rapeseed Wax

    Can anyone tell me how to calculate a recipe using rapeseed wax if it doesn't have this option on the calculator? Should I just use rapeseed oil? Many Thanks

    using lye to melt beeswax?

    Hello, I am a complete newbie. So far I have used my lye and water mixture to melt my hard oils then added the soft oils which has worked well for me. If I were to include a tiny amount of beeswax with my hard oils, would the lye mixture be enough to melt the wax? I hope I've explained myself...
