What are your favorite "food scented" FOs for CP?

I LOVE strawberry scent. I ordered mine from From Nature With Love and every time I use the soap I'm in heaven!

    Question about using soapcalc.

Once you have everything typed in then you want to calculate recipe. After that, do print recipe and it will bring up a new window with all the great info you need.

    Crisco CPHP Question

Do I have to render it myself though because I SO don't want to do that.

    Blueberries?

Maybe just use a little bit, a few ounces, with a colorant and the blueberry scent and you'll have the label appeal that there is real blueberries in the mix?

    First batch question...

Uh yeah... you did a super duper job! It's looks lovely!

    Blueberries?

Are you trying for the color or just the idea of the blueberries? I'm afraid it would just turn grey.

    "Natural" fragrance oils?

    More good info Carebear.

    "Natural" fragrance oils?

I agree with you on natural Carebear. There are lots of natural products that are harmful as well. The natural fragrance oils seem silly to me.

    Crisco CPHP Question

Yeah, that's my deal. I found a recipe I want to use but calls for lard at 50%. I do like the properties of adding tallow to the recipe.

    Crisco CPHP Question

Tallow would be acceptable. Do you know of any place that sells it ready for use but not 50lbs of it?

    Crisco CPHP Question

I'm thinking of doing a batch with a large amount of Crisco. I'm getting the feeling though that using more than 20% would be bad. I can't use lard and I was already going to use PKO and coconut oil. My goal here is to replace lard in the recipe. What do you think?

    Apple Pie for soap ?

I forgot to mention that I'd love it as a shower or a sink soap as long as it wasn't too harsh. But my hands can definitely handle the spice more than my body so I say give it a try and maybe try it in the shower and see how spicy that particular FO is. I bet it smells wonderful!

    Apple Pie for soap ?

Well, obviously many scents are skin safe but there are several with hints of cinnamon that burn my skin. Even plain FO, not EO's.

    How to Mix Titanium Dioxide

Great info. What about when you just want to whiten a part of the batch?

    Loving the Buttermilk Soap

I am so intrigued by buttermilk too. Thank you for this thread. I love mango butter too. My last two batches I used mango instead of shea. I can't really tell the difference but I love the way it sounds. :) How much buttermilk powder do you use ppo? Also, what if I stirred fresh...

Do ya feel lucky, punk??? (ridiculous, but true)

Oh my! I hope it all goes well. It's so annoying to get to measuring ingredients and realize you don't have enough of an oil. Your recipe sounds fabulous with mango butter, coconut milk powder, AND evaporated milk. I can't wait to see this batch.

    making a mold

Fun foam? I'm going to have to research that. I love my log mold. It's pretty big but I have a little piece that I can block off a part of it and have a smaller mold within the bigger. That would be something consider if you make a log mold.

How do I make a whiter soap?

Which is better to work with, oil-soluable or water-soluable? I've heard to use white mica but it didn't help whiten my batch at all, it made it a light tan, darker than my batch should have been on it's own.
