Where to buy Essential Oils in Conus now?

Thanks to you both for some new sources! Unfortunately, neither of them carries Bay Essential Oil (Pimenta racemosa that is) that is used in my "Spiced Bay" and "Bay Lime" products so I'll keep looking! David

Where to buy Essential Oils in Conus now?

Thanks! I actually have some of their products here and it seems that they are now located in New York which is close to me! Unfortunately, the price they have for this EO is much higher than I have paid before but it is good to know that they are an option for other things! Thanks!

Where to buy Essential Oils in Conus now?

I've had a business for many years and quite a stash of supplies saved but found I am out of Pimenta Racemosa "Bay" Essential Oil and started to look up suppliers I have used over the years and found many of them like F.P.I. and E.O.U. gone in the Conus! There have been several more that have...

    Fragrance Oil Manufacturers

Thanks! It only took five years for someone to reply! ;) The only one I know of is fragrances from Glory Bee who used to carry Wellington fragrances. They carried some fragrances which I quite liked and I was disappointed to find that they were no longer carrying fragrances so I checked...

    Just found Grandmother's soap recipe

Be careful, you are quoting "Wikipedia" which is a source that ANYONE can post in and you often don't know what their credentials are! Just sayin' !

My first shaving soap is a success!

My research has shown me that typically, shaving soaps made mainly of Stearic Acid and Coconut Oil are made with a 80% KOH and 20% NaOH ratio. If you write it as a formula based on 100% then it would be easier to make comparison's. My research has shown that the use of clay in a shaving soap...

My first shaving soap is a success!

tzavardin, In my experience, a dual lye is the best route to take. You want a soap to have the right consistency and the ratios you mentioned are right in the ballpark at 80/20 to 70/30 with the KOH being in the highest percentage with the NaOH being in the lowest. The most important...

Kraft Soap Boxes - WSP or Elements B&B?

I ordered the boxes from Elements Bath and Body and they were the exact same weight and thickness as they were when I ordered 1000 the last time. Thanks everyone for their replies and especially the one who had used boxes from both companies so I knew the WSP boxes were lighter in weight. I...

Hand stampers for Kraft Paper soapboxes

I am looking for information on types and brands of hand stampers of decorate my new kraft soapboxes with a simple design in black. At the most it would be 2" x 2". Has anyone any suggestions on hand-stampers that I may buy online and have set up with my design? Thanks for any assistance you...

Kraft Soap Boxes - WSP or Elements B&B?

I was amazed at the price difference between an order for around 1000 kraft Soap Boxes between WSP and Elements Bath and Body! At WSP it was $115.89 for 1100 boxes with free shipping but it says it's an average of 30 days to get the product! Elements Bath and Body has 1000 for $250 with $42.50...

Using fresh lemon or lime juice in soap..?

Earlene, Yes, you are correct that adjustments need to be made to a formula when you add an acid that will affect the base used in the product, but you said very little about how you made the calculations to correct the addition of an acid to the base included in your formula. In the 2nd...

Using fresh lemon or lime juice in soap..?

Hani, I think I was editing my reply to you when you wrote another reply quoting me! I had edited my reply to you and put in a comma in this phrase: "EXCEPT the water which you increase each time, you then make a soap" etc. because in reading it back to myself it seemed to make sense then when...

Using fresh lemon or lime juice in soap..?

Hani, 1 - YES, you are correct and that is what I have been saying. I will add to that by saying the amount that the pH might lower, could be very small but it still lowers the pH! If you were to make a batch of soap with slightly less NaOH in the formula, the soap created will have a lower pH...

Using fresh lemon or lime juice in soap..?

No, DeAnna, I am not thinking "acid + soap"! Oils are made up of fatty acids which are turned into soap by using a base, in this case the base is NaOH. The amount of this reaction is dependent upon how much of the acidic Lemon Juice is used in your formula. It will lower the pH the base...

Using fresh lemon or lime juice in soap..?

Earlene, Lemon Juice has a very low pH of around 2 to 3 so in effect you are lowering the pH of your soap meaning that less of the oils would saponify giving you what amounts to a larger superfat which would make the soap softer to cut and not have as good characteristics as your normal soap...

    Fragrance Oil Manufacturers

I've been a soapmaker for 20 years now and have purchased fragrances online for all of that time. Since we tend to go back to the companies we have used and are comfortable with we don't always know what else is available out there! I have bought from resellers and fragrance manufacturers...

    Brown Kraft Square Soap Box

Thanks, I did see that one and the size seems to be about right but I don't want any holes on the top or bottom... these are for shaving pucks mostly sold online so I don't need them for display.
