    Honey Spots

I am researching honey soaps. I was going to just add honey to a bit of warm water to mix and then add it to my soap at light trace. But now I've been reading about honey spots and I don't want those. So adding honey to room temp lye solution is a way to avoid this? Does it still accelerate...

    wholesasle pricing

Hello fellow soapers. I have had the opportunity to have my cold process soap in a local gift shop. While everyone seems to have their own interpretation of what a "whole sale" amount of soap is and what the price should be. While its one thing to agree on a price for the initial large order...

    Balm/Salve consistency

Thank you so much! I had never really thought of excluding the butter portion, I always thought it was key, but maybe not. The butter could very well be the reason for the grittiness. I made a new recipe excluding shea butter in an attempt to fix the gritiness. I substituted the shea butter for...

    Balm/Salve consistency

What do you mean tempered? I melt the bees wax first in a waterbath and then add the solid oils and then the olive oil, mix well allow to cool a bit before adding EO. I had no idea shea butter could cause granulating.

Listing ingredients when both KOH and NaOH is used

I'm in the process of making a label for my shave soap. I use both types of lye, how do you list this in the ingredients without actually putting sodium hydroxide.... For example, Ive seen some people put sodium cocoate, and then a few ingredients down the list they have potassium cocoate…..how...

Hello fellow soapers! I'am happy to say my little soap business is growing :) to the point where I've started thinking wholesale. I've come up with a wholesale price, but now i'm wondering at what quantity of bars/bottles of soap should the wholesale price start? Any input or advice would be...

    Titanium dioxide

I'm wondering what other peoples ratio of TD to water is? I mix mine 1 : 2 TD to water. The problem I have is the portion of soap I reserve for the white TD gets concave as it ages, and I know that's from too much water. How to you guys avoid getting concave soap when using TD and water?

    Concave soap

Hello soapers. I have noticed with my milk soap made with full water, then add half the value of water in milk, turns out fairly concave after curing. I make two different milk soaps. A goats milk soap that is full milk, i don't use any water with this one. The second one i make is a coconut...
