You're not wanting liquid soap? I thought KOH was for liquid soaps?
(I'm new to the world of soaping and have never done HP...forgive me if I'm way off)
It's my understanding that because they super fatted at 20%, the extra fats were frozen still when they went to cut. After it warmed up, it was no longer brittle.
Ok, thanks for clearing that up. So you can make a soft soap (as in - using soft oils) but it's the OO content that determines Castile or Bastille. Still learning all the time.
I agree. That's probably the best bet. Just be clear that FO and EO can change appearance with time, and the bar hardens as time goes by...the rest is up to them. Fair warning.
Oh!!! Gotcha! So 100% milk, as in using milk with lye, not using water. Glad that was cleared up. Lol. I thought they meant milk, lye...and that's it. Wasn't sure how that would work, but went with it.
Oh My!!! I laughed so hard when I read this that tears were in my eyes! I can't believe no one commented on it. I'm just grateful I didn't have a mouthful of coffee, I may have had to replace my laptop! You completely made my day Mark!!
Is it a powder or a liquid? Is there anything...
Very neat! Well, this thread was an eye opener in SO many ways…lol.
The thought of using breast milk to make soap would have never crossed my mind, and I had no idea you could make a 100% milk soap. Learning new things every day...:Kitten Love::p
If it zaps…you'll know ;)
I think it may be too early to rely on a zap test anyway. Some soaps, especially when they haven't gelled, take longer than 48 hours to stop zapping.
I would cut it and see what the inside looks like. Just my 2 cents. I wouldn't give up on it yet anyway. Worst case...
A few years ago I was the same. I read about making my own soap, bought the lye and everything….and chickened out. I'm still new, but I now have 5 batches under my belt now and am having a great time! This forum is an excellent resource too. Soap making really isn't as scary as we think :) Good...
Hazel - Lol, there were sharks with lazer beams trapping you on an island, but you escaped in a sail boat. The thread is quite funny for anyone who hasn't read it. Lol
