Yes I boiled water and but some soap in it. My book said to let it cool. I did and it was very cludy/milky. I will check out that web sight thanks.

Well I cooked it for another 4 hour total of 6 and I'm tired of stirring. It turned out the same as the first picture. Does anyone else have a castle soap liquid recepie?

My book states that borax will lower the ph. Someone in this forum said it barely lowers the ph so it might help.

I tried another batch with potassium hydroxide and it happened again. It turned white fluffy. it did not taffy and it turned whit. also its not honey color. Any suggestions? Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I totally agree. I have 3 ginny pigs at home and there very sensitive to everything! Shitzus ! They love the 100% castile soap. I have spent hundreds on dog soap and decided to make my own. My book recommends to use borax to lower ph. I will try that. Yes please tell me what oils lather good...

Pretty much 100% olive oil. I'm making a soap for dogs and people want lots of suds. I'm looking for something that won't make them itch.
