How do you get this look?

Looks like she used an egg wisk to fluff up the top. You use an egg wisk to dip in and out slowly once it's in the mould and it makes pretty decorations.

    Rebatching soap in oil

I've got some soap to rebatch but just hate the process and was wondering about rebatching using hot oil. If say you were melting some oils to make some soap and threw in some pieces of already made soap would the soap melt down in the hot oil? And could you then add the lye and the amount...

Coconut oil is liquid at room temp

I just picked up an order and my coconut oil is liquid. They don't sell fractionated coconut oil and I'm wondering if something is wrong with it. It's a yellow colour too and my usual coconut oil is always a beautiful white colour. Should I take it back? Use it as fractionated coconut oil...

    Bubble Bars

I made some once and they NEVER dried. The kids didn't care but I wanted to sell them...not hand them over to my kids. Sorry. Can't be of any help at all, although I doubt putting them in the oven will hurt them.

You wouldn't catch me sticking my fingers under that stamper thing. But I'd love to have my own line of milled soaps, what a treat.

    When success isn't so sweet

"Tall poppy syndrome: people of genuine merit are criticised or resented because their talents or achievements elevate them above or distinguish them from their peers." Maybe it's that. I'm genuinely not being a snobby brat about things, but maybe my excitement is being read that way. Some of...

    When success isn't so sweet

I've been posting on another crafting forum, we all live in the same state, know each other well, chat about all kinds of stuff and meet up often. Some of us even created our own not for profit org to help crafters. I left earlier this year though to focus on my business and the whole...

    Guess what I saw today?

I don't see anything wrong with $8 a bar. Some of the soap I make costs me $4 in ingredients and packaging alone. If I were to sell it wholesale at even that price (costing the customer $8 retail) I'd go broke very quickly. You're not my market customer though, you can make your own :D I...

    Hand Milled Question

Wow darthneck, you are a total newbie. I was earlier this year too :D I think I get what you want to do but you wont get the effect with hand milling. Those triple milled soaps you see in the shops are done by huge machines to get the perfect smooth texture. Hand milling gives a much...

Bramble Berry Strawberry - any problems?

I made a really nice batch of Strawberry soap yesterday and used the same amount of fragrance oil (2.5%) as all my other batches. So where is my strawberry scent? Why do I just smell soap? I've used it in bath bombs and it was divine but in CP soap...nothin! Anyone had this problem? Do I...

    Poured too early ?

Been there, done that. Keep an eye on it because it will harden up and if you forget about it you'll have soap you can't cut. Trust me on that one :D

    How does your skin FEEL?

My hands are worse now than they ever were and it's all my soaps fault. Well it is because I keep glumping them about in the fresh soap as I'm pouring. I really should use gloves.
