soap nuts

Hello!
I have some soap nuts and I was thinking to powder them and add them into an little experiment batch . I just trowed them into my food processor and grind them a little bit and then noticed that the my soap nuts are not just shells, the black stones are left inside... Has anyone any smart idea how to remove the stones from the dried shells?

I've never heard of them being ground up....

I have only heard of people putting them in water and steeping them. I never looked inside them at all.
