mold question

I found a box in my dad's workshop that looks perfect for a soap mold. this may seem like a silly question, but does anyone know how I can figure out how much soap it will hold? I am thinking of pouring water in and measuring it. would that work? (I feel like I'm contemplating deep space right now)

Summer Bee Meadows Calc has a Recipe Resizer to fit the batch to any size mold, but you have to enter a recipe, then calculate, then resize the batch on the next page. Here's a link:
