HELP....my first blunder....can it be fixed??? (LondonsMum)

It could be temperature. I did use a brand new digital thermometer that day and if it's not accurate - perhaps that was the problem afterall. Thanks everyone.

HELP....my first blunder....can it be fixed??? (LondonsMum)

After 30+ hours in the molds it's still a bit soft & squishy and has gone from a lovely milky white color to a peachy color. I guess I'll just let it sit for a few days and see what happens. Thanks for all the comments/info.

HELP....my first blunder....can it be fixed??? (LondonsMum)

Thanks for the reply. I don't use any FO's. All my goat milk soap is unscented since I make it primarily for my son. I've made this same recipe many times over and the only thing that changed in our process was adding water separate from the goat milk after the goat milk was already...

HELP....my first blunder....can it be fixed??? (LondonsMum)

The mistake: diluting REGULAR goat milk with water instead of condensed goat milk. My Mom & I make soap together and the other day I called her to tell her to put our goat milk in the freezer so it would be ready for soaping when I got there. Well....she bought a carton of...

craftgirl08 - yes it is. I added finely ground oatmeal and a touch of honey to that batch. It came out great!

Cocoa Butter and/or Shea Butter - WHERE TO BUY???

Does anyone have a good supplier for either Cocoa Butter or Shea Butter?

If you make goat's milk - HELP!!!

Are you freezing the soap after you put it into the molds?? That's probably what's causing the spots. I noticed that even after letting my goat milk soap sit out 24 hours and then putting it in the freezer for just 10 minutes to help get it out of the molds caused discoloration/spots along the...

    Living in (or near) Florida?

I used to live in Ponce Inlet, FL and then in Jupiter, FL. Now I live in Las Vegas where it is REALLY hot!! It's finally cooling down to the high 90's at night and not going over 105 during the day here - but they keep saying it will get hotter this weekend. (UGH!) On a side note - the lack...

More Photos of My Goat Milk Soap (LondonsMum)

These are photos of the soaps I have listed in my store on Etsy (MyMommyMadeThat). I listed them yesterday afternoon and already sold one last night! :D The ones that have a spotted look to them are the ones with oatmeal & honey. The others are all plain, unscented goat milk soap.

Green Tea in Goat Milk soap??

Haven't added the green tea to my soap yet - but I probably will do it today. I had a great experience yesterday of just diluting the condensed goat milk with an equal part of bottled water - color came out gorgeous! So today I'm planning to make a strong batch of green tea and use that to...

Green Tea in Goat Milk soap??

I'm not too concerned about the color. I'm mainly trying to stretch my condensed goat milk (instead of adding just water to it) while adding something beneficial to the mix. I, personally, love green tea and thought it would add some benefits to the skin if I used it in a batch of my goat milk...

Green Tea in Goat Milk soap??

Has anyone used green tea while making goat milk soap? I'm thinking of using green tea to dilute a can of concentrated goat milk. Anyone have success doing this before?

    curing in your living space

This makes me a little glad that I'm only doing unscented soaps. My little boy and I both are so sensitive to smells - we have noses like blood hounds. Too much scent would really get to us. Thanks for sharing.

    Goats Milk Soap by LondonsMum

These are photos of the very first Goat Milk soaps I made a few weeks ago. I ended up with some air bubbles...corrected that on the next batch.

i just found lye right by my house!!

Ace Hardward was the only place near me that carries 100% lye. Lowes & Home Depot both stopped carrying it due to it's use in meth. Once I get to the point where I can buy larger quantities, I'm planning on getting it from thelyeguy.com. Has anyone bought from that site before?
