Hello,
I'm making my first soap for a school project. I am using Soapcalc to put together a recipe, but I don't know what type of coconut oil do I have - 92 or 76.
I have a 500ml jar I bought in a supermarket, it says:
Coconut oil, odorless, refined
I tried to look online, but I found confusing answers.
This website says:
Seventy-six degree coconut oil is another name for refined coconut oil.
However, in this thread I found:
76 degree coconut oil is unrefined
So what should I use in Soapcalc, 92 or 76?

76 degree CO can be refined or unrefined. You will usually find 76 degree in most stores unless you live in a much warmer climate. Based on the location listed in your profile, what you found is almost certainly 76 degree CO. 😊
