This recent soap, using Kumquat FO from BB, appears to have TD spots. How can that be when the TD I use has been dispersed in water for weeks before squirting it in the batter? I always shake it up very well before using. I've used it in other batches with different FO and haven't seen these spots. It wasn't gelled. The recipe also has tussah silk fibers (added to hot lye and strained out) and sugar and Nurture mica for coloring.

I have had TD spots when I did not mix my water and TD solution well enough into the soap batter. The TD itself was perfectly dissolved in water, but after I incorporated it into the soap and hand stirred only, this is exactly what happened. The soap was still usable but spotty.

They look like air bubbles to me also :)
TD spots are veeery white and sometimes leave drag marks as soap is cut. I've learnt it the hard way. :)
