Does anyone know why she says this?

The only exception to my 5-8% rule is for castor oil. I won't bore you with the scientific reasons as to why this is so, but you should only use a 5% maximum discount for this particular ingredient.

i'm guessing.. castor is more sticky than others, maybe a higher sf would leave more unsap castor and soap would be too sticky :?:
i did sf at higher rate than that with castor oil, and i cannot tell anything specially different about it.

Well, everyone has his/her personal preferences; I often use 5% castor in my recipe with a 7% superfat without a problem. :wink: So let the experimenting begin.

I use 10% castor and 7% SF and have NEVER had a problem.
