Some advice please

I tend to get stearic spots in my tallow/lard recipe from the high stearic it has. They simply do not bother me, and I find them to usually be a fairly uniform size. As for undissolved lye, it does not look the same.

Recently I hurried up to make a batch of soap, and ended up with undissolved lye. I knew it was there and decided to pour it to see what it would look like, since the batch was going in the trash anyway. Anyway the undissolved lye was not at all uniform or evenly distributed. Sorry I do not remember what I did that caused the lye to not dissolve. We all can make mistakes!
