Smelly Soap-Help please.

So I'm new to goat milk pwder and buttermilk powder. I have always used fresh milks, and they've turned out great. I never noticed the smell with frozen milk. I've been adding the powders to some reserved oils and then adding at trace. When I unmold and cut them the smell is HORRIBLE. Not like ammonia, but just gross, like a babies diaper (sorry). Any advice on how to fix this? Is this common to powders?

It probably got too hot in the mold and scorched. Even in powder form I usually refrigerate to keep it from scorching and getting that nasty smell. The smell usually dissipates after a long cure.

It may settle down in time. Give it a couple of weeks of cure and see how it goes.
