I just finished my first salt bar, I mixed oils and lye solution(made with aloe juice), SB til light trace added Lavender EO and Tea tree oil, blended them in and then it was at medium trace. Added salt and stirred to incorporate, but it seemed to thin out the mixture. Is this common when you add the salt? I poured and put it to bed, but it seemed so thin. Will it be OK? :?

75% Coconut,
18% Safflower
3% Castor
4% Shea butter
50% sea salt

How much salt did you add?

Mine is like cement when I add the salt. I don't get anywhere near trace, just pour as soon as its incorporated, 1 to 2 minutes.

Oils totaled 900g and I added 450g of salt. I wanted a salt bar that was on the light side. I added salt after it traced.

Duh, sorry, I missed that you posted the amounts, sorry.

If your recipe is solid, proper amounts of lye:water, it will be fine.

I use a 1:1 ratio when I add salt. It's much thicker at the pour.

Just cut it, almost waited too long, broke my little plastic flimsey mold getting it out. It was still hot from the gel.
