Hi everyone! Fingers crossed someone has the answer here. I've made several batches of salt bars. My favorite recipe is the simplest: 100% coconut oil, 25% sf, 100% sea salt. I dissolve lye in coconut cream and always stir in salt after oil & lye mixture come to trace. This time, however, my salt just wouldn't disperse evenly and, after pouring into individual molds, there was a heavy concentration of undissolved salt at the bottom of the bowl.
There were a few things I did differently this time:
1. I used coconut milk instead of coconut cream (which is thicker)
2. I added indigo powder to the lye mixture
3. I added a blend of essential oils after adding the salt
Could any of the above been a factor?
Can I still even use this soap given the salt is dispersed unevenly?
