Making soap in the Forest House
Today is the my 3 year anniversary for making CP soap! Today is the first time I experienced what I think was ricing. šŸ˜¢

Can anything else besides the fragrance cause ricing? I used Laila from Scent Memory, and none of the reviews of it mentioned ricing--they said it behaved well.

I was putting it in individual molds, so I didn't even notice it until I was smoothing it out. Can the soap still be used?

I've seen soap batter get grainy when soaping very cool, but the only true ricing I've had was always due to fragrance. I think the soap should be just fine to use.

That I can't answer since I've always been able to stick blend the batter to a smooth consistency before pouring/glopping into a mold. Was it @KiwiMoose that had some ricing and found her soap to be fine?

Yup it was me Dibbles. I'll see if I can find a pic of the finish product...

It was the Rose Quartz fragrance oil that did it. Still OK to use.
