Up until now I haven't been using colouring in any of my soap. I just bought some ultramarines and oxides and am ready to try them out, but I need some help first!

What is the easiest/best way to add these to your soap? (I do cold process). I think someone told me awhile back to mix them with a small amount of oil (into a paste) - is this a good idea?

How about when you're doing a swirl?

Also, can these be used to colour melt and pour soap too? I bought a 2lb block of melt and pour just to try it.

Thanks a bunch!

I use alot of oxides and what I have done is to mix them with liquid glycerin at the rate of 1 oz oxide to 8 oz glycerin. Once mixed I put them in squirt bottles. Like the kind you use for ketchup or mustard. I have used them in both CP and MP. Only ever had 1 issue, my yellow oxide looked a pinch grainy once in a MP. I have not used them in a clear MP base yet.

Have a great day!

Bruce
