Old Lye

Hi everyone. I was making goat milk soap when I discovered that my lye wasn't reacting. After looking it up, I found that lye gets old, which mine was. I added extra lye and finished up, hoping that it would work after all. Well it seemed to soponify but the soap is pretty soft, even after several weeks. Is there any way of re-using it?

You could shred it up and make ciaglia soap, or confetti soap. Both can be quite pretty! You can use the Search function to some good threads here about both of those.
