Lately I've been thinking about making a couple batches soap based on the category of the source materials. For example, making a nut soap using oils of almond, macadamia, coconut, and cocoa-butter, using coconut milk as the liquid, scenting it with nutmeg EO and adding finely ground almonds to the batch. Working title: Nutty Buddy Soap.

Second idea: A flower based soap using oils of safflower, sunflower seed, sesame seed and rose hip oil, making a rose hip and rose petal tea for the liquid, scenting it with rose geranium EO and adding dried calendula petals to the batch. Working title: Flower Power Soap.

Has anyone here taken this approach before?

No but I have been thinking along similar lines about making a line of soaps with various properties in traditional chinese medicine.
