Hi everyone, I have just started to make my 1st batch. It looks good and success. I followed a recipe from internet https://lovelygreens.com/make-natural-lemongrass-soap/. However, I just went through the recipe with a soap calculator and found that the water suggested in the calculator is 304g but the recipe is 196g! Is this normal to change the % of water? Did the soap are still safe to use after 4 weeks? Thanks.

I just ran it through soap calc using the oils as oz water is 197g
Using the oils as grams (since someone hasn't converted accurately) water is 200g.

The recipe is fine. When you ran it through the calculator did you use 25% water as percent of oils and SF 6% as the recipe suggested?

I get 304 g of water if I use the default of 38% water as percent of oils.
Either will work but 38% water as percent of oils will take longer to set up.

Your soap will be safe to use in a few days. It will be better (lather, bubbles and last longer) in 4 weeks, much better in 8 weeks and great in 3 months.
