My first batch of cp soap- not sure if I reached traced

so I got my delivery of goodies today and got everything ready to make my first batch using a recipe from the soap kitchen. I weighed everything out and added ess oil at the end as suggested but just not sure if I got that elusive ‘trace’ . I started whisking by hand and it changed from golden olive oil colour to a creamier colour. It was certainly thicker than when it started and poured into the mould very easily. I had a bit that wouldn’t fit and that’s been sitting in the kitchen for about 3 hours. It’s almost setting but not quiet.

If in fact I didn’t get as far as trace is the batch no good or will it just take longer?

As long as it was emulsified it should be fine. Don't know what oils you used, some harden faster than others. If it's almost set, it's on its way. Congratulations!

If it thickened, then it traced even if it was just a light trace. You don't have to have pudding thick batter.
It sounds like you did good, congrats.

Sounds better than my first batch - I was so obsessed with trace that mine was VERY thick and I had to spoon-glop it into the moulds.
