Mosaic soap after a disaster

I just made some soap on a stick.

How long do I have to wait to chop the soap into small pieces and make some mosaic soap?

Also, what is the longest I can wait to that? I imagine that if I take too long it will get too hard and it might make it difficult to cut, right? Or does it soften up when mixed with the new batter?

If it is hard soap, then you can chop it up.

Do you know if it’s ok to let it dry for a few weeks chopped up or is it going to be an issue if it gets too hard?

I just made some soap on a stick.

TIP: When that happens, just leave the stick in the soap and walk away for 5 minutes. When I come back, the soap is going into gel phase so it's easy to quickly give it a good stir and mold up.

How long do I have to wait to chop the soap into small pieces

I use a Salad Shooter as soon as the soap can be grated up without sticking to the blade. You can also use a food processor or hand held cheese grater (watch out for the knuckles!) With new soap, you can then toss the gratings in a crockpot or rebatch it in the oven.
