Hello everyone,

I'm new to soap making. I just wanted to know if there is a way to make whipped soap base with no oils? I saw on some websites that they use something called mystiric acid. Could any tell me about that too? Thanks in advance.

I am not sure about making soap with just lye and fatty acids, since they saponify so quickly even when mixed with oils, e.g., shave soap with high amounts of stearic acid. I can’t imagine trying that with no oils at all!

Is it possible that you don’t really mean “soap” in the scientific definition of that word?

If so, then yes, you can make a whipped base that has a very low amount of oils; it is mostly syndet surfactants and such. Is that what you are seeking? I like the one from DIY Bath & Body that you can purchase on Etsy. Humblebee & Me also has some free recipes on their website.
