I'm new to making soap the CP way and I'm looking to buy some items that will be used for soap only. I'm looking for a pitcher for my lye water and found a really cute one (I'm a sucker for things in a cute color) that is enamel on steel. Is this going to be safe for my lye water? I also found some stock pots made of the same material (enamel on steel) would they be safe for melting down my oils and pouring the lye water into?
Thanks!

I wouldn't recommend enamel on steel as my first choice. If it chips or scars, you'd have a problem.

How about a non-cute sterilite or rubbermaid pitcher for your lye? They're cheap and they do the job. Also it will take longer for your lye to cook in a metal-based pitcher.

That's exactly what I didn't want to hear
Lol. It is such a pretty pitcher... oh well.
I think I'll just end up getting stainless steel for everything. I've heard it was cleaner and it will hold up to the lye.
Thanks!
