I love soaping because...
I find it relaxing
I think that transforming a caustic substance and oils into a lathery, creamy, bubbly bar of soap that smells wonderful is nothing short of MAGICAL
Call me strange but I find hand stirring therapeutic (after too long it's pretty frustrating though!)
I get a wonderful sense of achievement knowing that I have produced something that is good for my families skin.

(and one last thing that I have noticed...I think I am borderline OCD, I wash my hands a thousand times a day, but ever since using my own soap I have not had to use hand cream on my dry hands...coincidence I think not!!)

Would anyone else care to share why they love it so much?

I love soaping because.....

This is my first ever creative endeavour and I have surprised myself. I really thought I didn't have a creative bone in my body. Soaping, both MP and CP, have given me a greater understanding of the limitations of thought I had placed on myself all my life (almost 48 years) - we truly are what we think we are.

I find joy in soaping; every step of the process.

Live long, love soap!

Tanya :)

I love soaping because... it is a wonderful craft. I have always loved being creative and this is one of my favorite crafts. Its always like X-mas each time I unmold my creation the next morning. The best part is that the end product is something wonderful that my friends and family all love! Also because of all of you on the forum has been so kind and generous with your help and advise! :D

I Love Soaping because.......

I Love the entire process from watching the lye react with the water to mixing it into the oils and seeing an immediate reaction all the way to watching it thicken until it's ready to pour.

I Love how my skin feels now that I'm using hand-made soaps. I don't think my hands have ever been as clean since I started making my own soap.

I love having something so wonderful to give my friends and family.

All of these reasons, and also the creativity of trying to get that perfect swirl, that perfect color, putting together that perfect recipe, getting to know what scents will do what in the soaps, etc.,
It is very therapuetic...

I love soaping because....

it's mine. I now have a "thing" that I do. When people get to know me, they will remember that I make soap.

I love soaping because...

it is a craft that uses every part of your brain to create it and then when you've finished something that you enjoyed every minute of creating, someone actually wants to give you money for it!

I love soaping because its kinda like baking... you mix a recipe, add your own creative ideas to it and wallah... and it doesn't make you fat!

I love soaping because I love creating beautiful things that make me and others feel good. I love the endless variety of colour combinations, scent combinations, mastering new techniques such as swirling and layering and all the different additives.

:D I particularly love it when someone who has bought my soap comes back and says "I just have to have more of your soap......I just love it"

Because of all of you

I love SOAPING because....
To soap is to breath.

To me it is a very lovely thing to do using all my skills I have built up over my 56 yeqrs kicking arround this planet.
Soap is not only beautiful for and to me , I can make other peoples lives better with it.
It gives me a feeling of revelance in life.As I have a nuerological glitch that leaves me unable to move and walk at times and I have always lead a full life I felt a little lost as to how I could contribute. Then soap swished in and my life become colourfull and fun again. Soap can be fitted in with my good times.Soap is patient and gives me a ligit. reason for social contact.
My mum and grandma both owned a cake Shop way back. Both did cooking Jobs and my Mum was a chef for many moons. She has to this day a cooking studio ,not a kitchen ,in her home.
So I can get the cooking kicks with out the calories.
Now did I forget to mention one other thing.
Because of soap I met all you wondefrull people.
Thankyou sincerely.

I think it would be fair to say that "soaping" means so much more to all of us than just making soap, I think I am not alone in saying that it goes a lot deeper/11 :)

Welcome

Hi Chrissy to another fellow Aussi.
You have a lot to share no doupt.
Have you any photos to share of your soaps with us.

Starduster
Yes I do have photos of my soaps, but I have to figure out how to load them onto here.
I looked at your webpage...got me thinking.
Where I live there is a little coffee house/cafe/childrens party venue. It's only a small business, it's called Firefly Forest.
Anyway they specialise in doing kids birthday parties with a fairy theme, I think your soaps would be wonderful party favours for them!

I love making soap, because I like looking in the mirror & laughing at my bug-eyes with my goggles on. (they're motocross goggles decorated in true Steampunk fashion with watch gears & leather.)

Seriously, I love the chemistry part of it - the magic transformation of all the ingredients into BUBBLES!!!!!!! The yin & yang of starting with a substance that'll eat your skin to the bone & ending up with a substance the total opposite of that. I love playing with ingredients - trying, testing, discovering.

Come'n, ,we would like to see this .Your goggles sound specially cool.

I love soaping because it allows me to be creative! I also get a lot of joy out of it - when my soaps are successful I feel so happy and proud.

I have always loved using handmade soap and bath products, so I also love soaping because now I can make them for myself.

It'd be great fun for us all to post a pic of us "suited up" for cp soaping. Soooooooooooooo funny!!

Thats what I was thinking. A soap Rogues Gallery , or Super Soapers.
I can picture the SS logo on undies on the out side.

I always soap while blasting my iPod to 80's music. My son once video-taped me dancing around the kitchen and is threatening to post it on Facebook.....!
