Hi, I am a busy Mum of 8 kidlets ( soon to be 9) born and bred in Australia :)
I have been interested in making soap for years but was never "game" enough to try it lol. I made my first patch of gots milk M & P 2 days ago, and other than adding too much cocoa butter ( it feels sticky...was experimenting lol) and a LOT of scent ( wow these babies smell strong!) i Have some usable soap lol. After that funny little escapade I decided I need to learn about this new addictive habby/art. I say hobby for me, cos I could only wish I could make soap like the lot of you, and art...well thats what a lot of the soaps I have seen so far look like!

I really want to try the CP or HP for results, I like the sound of HP because the curing time is a bit shorter, but I love how smooth the CP comes out of the mold.

The M&P was fun, but it kinda felt like I wasn't really the 1 making the soap, will leave that to craft days with the kids lol.

Hope that covers everything....haha including my life story...wow that was long :) Sorry

Oh my! When do you have time to sleep let alone make soap?

I know what you mean about not feeling that you're making soap with MP. But for right now, it's the safest alternative for you since it's presaponified. However, when you work with MP, you can be a lot more creative and make intricate designs and you're able to use fancy molds. You're really able to indulge your artistic and whimsical ideas with MP.

Have you looked at the Melt and Pour Forum? There's some very talented people posting on it and I'm amazed at some of the pics.

Your children might (I say might because I don't know them) enjoy soaps like these.

Welcome to the forum! I hope you find it relaxing. :D

Hi! Welcome to the forum! I made M&P for YEARS because I was too scared to try anything else! You are able to be more creative with M&P, while you're able to control your ingredients with CP/HP ... so ... they both have their own little niche!

So, welcome to the forum and enjoy soaping whatever your method may be!!

Hazel, those soaps would be great for the kids!!! they would love them :) Might have to give them a whirl soon.

I still want to make some M & P soap, just I will keep that as a "family" craft, Mummy likes to have her own craft as well lol. I won't be making any CP soaps while the kids are up ( I'm a night owl) so I'm not too worried about the kids getting into anything with them.
