My CP soaps get ash, HP doesn't.

For everyone considering steaming the ash off your soaps, just a word of caution: do NOT hold the soaps anywhere the steam, use tongs or something else to hold the soaps! Steam burns HURT and it only takes a second!

Just tried steaming my bars for the first time instead of a damp cloth and rubbing it off. Well I must say this is a GREAT way to clean and polish bars! So easy and it allows you to smooth out the edges too. I'm in love.

Now to come up with a steaming rack so I can do several at a time...

I always get ash. I did my first batch with 91% alcohol (just spritzed the top) and didn't get as much, but it's still there. I just saw a blog that talked about steaming the ash off of the tops. I think I'm going to try that on my charcoal soap where it shows the most.

I find I need to spray my soap more than once with alcohol to prevent ash. I definitely notice more ash when I soap at lower temperatures.
