Hi. I am Robert and I live in Denver with my 12 yo pup. I have been lurking for awhile and thought I would join. There is so much knowledge in this group just waiting to be tapped.

I started soap making a few weeks ago and have a batch under my belt. I enjoy making things and when I can replace a commercial product, it makes me happy. So the purpose in learning is to share with family and neighbors...to appreciate/use what I can make.

Everything interests me from learning more about lard/mixed soaps (many comments I have read indicate a positive reaction), to swirling (enjoy watching tatisoap on youtube), to 'old' methods (like the thread about Andalusian Castile soap).

Hey I just joined too. I made brown sugar and honey soap for my first blended with olive, palm, and coconut. Still waiting for it to finish curing. So excited to use it is smells great. What did you make for your first?
