I have never made soap and don't want to start working with lye yet, but found a cold press recipe I think I would like. How can I convert a cold press recipe into a hand milled recipe using ready made basic soap? Is this possible? Thanks!

Are you talking about Rebatch soap. It's cold process soap made with lye then "Hand Milled" or grated then melted back down and fragrance and color added. If so Bramble Berry sells Rebatch soap base and here is a video on how to use it.
