I have a couple of LabColors from Bramble Berry that I thought I would try out and then I stumbled across what is for me an uhoh. Their site says to use a preservative in the color. I don't have that. Is it absolutely necessary? I don't mind waiting (lie!) if I have to order it to keep from ruining my next CP project. Maybe I won't be diluting in water? This is new to me.

Here's their note from the website:

NOTE: If you are diluting Labcolors in water, you will need to add a preservative at 1%.
We recommend Germaben II.

That's for if you are diluting your colorants ahead of time and storing them.

Dennis, I believe they also say you can dilute the colorant and then refridgerate them, but I imagine that's not as safe and will eventually go bad. I'd use them full strength since I just diluted 2 different colors and they both ended up being quite weak in my soap batter :( Good luck and keep in mind that they will bleed in the soap as well.
