i know coconut can be drying but it is necessary for bubbles. i know castor is used for bubbles but doesn't have some of the same properties as coconut (according to soapcalc) what is everyone's preference and why?

high levels of castor result in a soft, sticky soap. pretty much the opposite of coconut in that respect.

Castor is really not appropriate for the main oil in a soap, but at lower levels - say up to 10% tho some may go higher if the rest of the formula is properly balanced - it can contribute something.

I myself don't use it, but there are many oils I don't use so that's not saying it's not a good soaping oil - simply one I don't seem to need.
