Can you make shampoo with soap shavings?

I have been looking for a recipe for home made shampoo. I was wondering if anyone knows if you can use the shavings off of soap for this. I have a box full of soap that I have trimmed and shaved off of my original bars and would like to find a good use for them. I normally use my soap bars to wash my hair, but my hair is long and it is a real PITA to do it that way! Takes FOREVER My husband loves it, but it is a lot of effort for me. I always have two kids and a cat with me in the bathroom while I am trying to shower and they all are demanding my attention at the same time! I have to get in and out of the shower a little faster! LOL

The third batch I made is almost cold, and very liquid, but about 1 tsp is enough to work up a good lather on my hands. Might try to get a slightly thicker batch, but still fairly liquid.
