I need a nice recipe for a body lotion. I made one from Susan Cavitch's book but it is too thick, very nice, but it's more of a cream. Here are the ingredients I have on hand. Can someone help me create a recipe that would be light for body lotion? Also, how do you figure percentages?

Olive Oil
Sweet Almond Oil
Wheat Germ Oil
Jojoba Oil
Stearic Acid
Germabin II
Beeswax
Borax
Coconut oil
Castor Oil
Palm Oil
Glycerin
Shea Butter
Cocoa Butter

I cant find it at the moment but I have a really useful sheet I will either PM or email you :)

as far as percentages

Try:

74% water
20% oils-you can use any combo of the ones you have that you wish
6% ewax

:)

oh and forgot to add maybe youd want to use germabin II at about .1% (check first ..I dont have enough experience with preservatives to be giving advice on those :)

Ahhaaaa .... Thank God for google.... I typed the whole first paragraph of the document into google search rrather than typing all of it out again (I realized there was no computer file with this saved on my cpu, but I have this in my soap/lotion binder-file thing....which I also encourage EVERYONE to have... Ive got sections for research...etc... pretty much everything!....).... I have these print-outs in my file and I ALWAYS refer to them as a general guidline and an invaluable resource when formulating my lotion blends. The soapnuts links are probably the best description I have found for lotion makers...

Not sure if you have discovered these links in your travels on the net yet...but here they are!:

(I copied the links for the successive pages...but you can get to the other links I have listed below by clicking next on the bottom of this first link-screen)
