I want to make hemp seed oil based lotions and lip balms. I understand (I think!) The skeleton structure for each but would REALLY appreciate any input on amounts. I know experimentation is going to be the only way to get it the exact way I want it, but any helpful starting points or tips/hints would be great! Thanks!

My plans:

-Lotion-
-water (I also read you can substitute aloe juice, is that true?)

-oil
hemp seed oil

-emulsifier
I would love to find a natural one, but BTMS Conditioning Emulsifier looks ok

-preservative
Again, if there is a natural preservative that would work that would be great, otherwise I think I'll go with Potassium Sorbate.

-Lip Balm-

6oz Hemp Seed Oil
1oz Butter (I'll probably try shea)
2oz Wax (I want a vegan alternative to beeswax, all natural if possible, any tips?)
Flavor Oil (Any tips on average amount of Flavor Oil? It seems to vary quite a bit.

Thank you so much for any help!

potassium sorbate ain't gonna cut it. read about it on either Lotioncrafters or The Herbarie (I forget which site)
